Do you know Amy Winehouse? For those who lived under a rock “Amy Jade Winehouse is an English singer-songwriter, known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including soul, jazz and R&B. Amy Winehouse was born in the Southgate area of Enfield, London to a Jewish family who shared her love of jazz music”

This news reminded me of the concert in Nelson Mandela’s honor in London’s Hyde Park last Friday to celebrate his 90th birthday. The line-up was impressing: Will Smith, Amy Winehouse, Jerry Dammers, Razorlight, Queen + Paul Rogers, Annie Lennox, Sugababes, Andrea and Sharon Corr, Simple Minds, Zucchero, Josh Groban.

Wait a minute…Amy Winehouse too? Isn’t Mandela known and highly respected for his continuing battle agains racism? Isn’t Amy Winehouse the Jewish racist that sung: (video)

Strange! I guess the organizers of the concert were blinded by the positive effect on publicity and ticket sales when Amy Winehouse’s name is on the flyer. Principles, who needs them anyway!
